Our latest Ofsted report has now been received.  A big thank you to all concerned.

Following concerns raised by the children about the lack of suitable resources for playtime, we have been concentrating this term on researching the possibilities for improving our outdoor area.

At the end of January we enjoyed a ‘collapsed curriculum’ day devoted to celebrating Chinese New Year. Children dressed in clothes of either ‘lucky’ red or traditional Chinese outfits.

Every year in the autumn term our Parent Teachers Association pays for the Chaplins Theatre Company to visit our school. Each year they perform a different pantomime with funny fairytale characters and lively songs and dances. Last year the group performed Little Red Riding Hood.

During our topic on India, we learnt about the lives of three children from different parts of the country. We dressed in traditional Indian costumes and cooked traditional recipes for an Indian banquet. Mrs Mistry, our Dinner Supervisory Assistant, shared her knowledge about life in India and told us about her relatives who still live there today.

We also found lots of information about the village of Chembakolli. You can see our model of the village in the gallery section of our website. Recently we have made links with boys and girls from a school in Chennai. We regularly send each other emails and post each other examples of work we have done in school.
